Why do we exist?
At Arte a la Carta, we provide an oasis where the emphasis is not on objectives, results, or judging outcomes as “good” or “bad.” Instead, our experiences are grounded in the belief that the true joy of life resides in the process, not the end result.
We exist for the “casual adult artist”—the person who doesn’t want a formal art class, or who may not even consider themselves “creative.” Yet, this person craves a space to express themselves, explore new mediums, and take a break from technology.
Our vision of personal development embraces curiosity, an open mind, and a collaborative "yes, and" mentality. We empower participants to relinquish control, embrace unknown outcomes, and prioritize active participation over passive observation.
Success to us means creating a space for people to find their own personal “Flow State,” where they lose a sense of time, feel at ease with no pressure to perform, and connect deeply with themselves and others.
about the founder: Julia Stewart
Hi, I'm Julia, founder of Arte a la Carta.
I identify as an Engagement Artist and Experience Designer, facilitating spontaneous shared experiences that foster connection and creativity. My work explores the potential of brief moments of joy and connection to inspire lasting change.
My goal is to inspire authenticity and childlike joy through activities that promote self-acceptance and collaboration.
I love sentences that start with, “what if we…” and then presently observing what unfolds.
Originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, I’ve been lucky to call Barcelona home since 2020. I have an MBA from ESADE and a B.A. in International Relations from Lewis & Clark College. I studied Experience Design with Kaospilot and the Scaling Intimacy School of Experience Design.
